the new boat bed

Our good friend Cindy from our neighborhood in Ohio called last night to catch up. We hadn't talked in a little bit and she wanted to make sure things were okay with us since I hadn't written on this blog in a while. Yes, everything is going great, just didn't have much to share I thought. My sister and Maddie came for a visit arriving Easter Sunday. They stayed thru that Thursday afternoon. We did some outlet shopping, went to the pool, lunch @ Sweet Tomatoes (try this place, it's fantastic), Target, had the kids picture taken and she watched Owen one night so Chris and I could go eat alone and have a date. Owen just about drove Maddie crazy because he would not leave her alone for a single second. She was a trooper though. My sister and I had a few spats because that's just the kind of sisters we are. We both make mountains out of molehills and are too stubborn to apologize afterwards. She told me I was turning into my mother. Ha. Funny. I don't totally find that to be a bad thing:) I kind of struggled with Owen and the potty while they were here. He just didn't want to take time out from all of the excitement to go sit on the potty and do his thing. He didn't have many accidents, but I felt like I was dragging him kicking and screaming to the potty all week long.

As for the transition to his new bed, awesome!! Amazing how he just up and switched, so we could have the crib back, and didn't give it a second thought. He is sleeping great! Here are just a few pictures of his new boat bed. Notice the book bins on each side of the bed? That is what he is supposed to do when he wakes up at the crack of dawn before the sun comes up when mommy isnt ready to get up too. Lately he's been up at 6:15, or before, every morning. Ugghh. I don't like to rise before the sun does. Instead of reading this morning he got out all of his shoes and lined them up on the chair in his room. Funny stuff. We bought him this bed in hopes to transition him easily and hope that maybe it lasts him a year before we have to move him and buy him a big boy double bed.
