Here is a much needed family blog update. It's been over 20 days since I last wrote something, but hey forgive me, we've had a thing or two going on. Owen, Mom and I flew out for the move June 18th. We were so lucky to have Mom for the flight (omg I couldn't have made it through those 5 hours without her). Owen truely was so super behaved (for him). It was just a long flight with a ton of turbulance and keeping Owen happy wasn't the easist. Every time my sweet potty traind boy looked at me and said that he had to pee the captain had the seatbelt light on. Ah, try explaining that to an almost 3 year old. But hey, we managed. Again, I am so lucky to have my Mom because she stayed for 8 whole days! Woohoo. The evening we got here we got right to work. Anybody who knows my mother knows why. She just isn't a "sit around" kind of person. But that is exactly what Chris and I needed. Especially with how pregnant (tired) I am, I would have procrastinated as much as I could have gotten away with. We had the kitchen done in less than a couple hours and we hit the sheets knowing just how much there was to be done. We also knew that Owen was going to be up at the crack of dawn with the 3 hour time difference. We had the entire house finished (with exception of the babys room and garage boxes) inside of 3 1/2 days. My mother is an amazing motivator and never ever runs out of energy. Nor did she complain even once. Having the house done so quickly meant that we had time to relax and shop and check out our new surroundings. We have this great park right around the corner from us that has sprinklers and such, as well as regular playground equipment. We tried out new local restaurants that we didn't have in Jacksonville and even drove down to the strip (only a 20 min drive and a much easier drive than I ever imagined) to do a little window shopping at Caesars Palace. Toy shopping at FAO Schwartz. New clothes shopping at Gap and just fun shopping with Grammy at Pottery Barn Kids (I love that place). Needless to say, I did not want my Mom to leave (sniff sniff) but she had to. And she and my dad will be out in September for 2 weeks right around the time of the baby's due date. This weekend we went out to breakfast, to our new pool, went cosmic bowling, picked up Chris' new grill from Lowes and bought some odds and ends from Bed Bath and Beyond. The temps are in the triple digits so my main goal is to keep Owen entertained while I keep myself and baby Olivia cool! On the agenda for this week: preschool tours, pool time, get the garage and babys room all done and a visit to my new obgyn. Just a couple pictures to share. Some are of Owen at the park and some are of him at the fish tank in Caesars Palace. Pictures of the new house and much more coming very soon.

I'm so glad you're there and unpacked. That sprinkler park looks AWESOME! I'm jealous :) Hang in there, it'll feel like home in no time :)
