potty

So I am having a mild amount of potty training success already with Owen. He was showing so much willingness toward his potty that I decided to give it a shot. I suspect that I will really get down to business, no pun intended, after we return from Virginia next Tuesday. Last night while undressing to get in the tub he told Chris "pee pee". So Chris sat him on the potty and he peed. Yeah, he got a single M&M. This wasn't our first success story. He's been peeing and pooping on the potty now for a few weeks with no real regularity. He tells me and does it when he wants to and I haven't been pushing the issue. He isn't even 2 quite yet. Now this morning at the pool he told me "poo poo" so we rushed to the pool bathroom and he peed and pooped on the big potty there. That was a big deal. Got him home and out of the swim diaper and he pooped a little bit more on his potty. So excited! Like I said, next week I am going to commit to getting serious about it (if and only if he is wanting to).

Saturday morning I set the alarm and got up at 5:45 so I could get my long run in before the Florida heat started to beat me down. I was already into my third mile when the sun was coming up. 8.5 miles- and I really did them all. I drank water and ate a banana before I left the house. Along the way I had more water and a package of GU (oh my it was nasty and my gag reflex almost brought it back up). As nasty as it was though, I don't think I would have made it through those miles and the speed I did them at without it. I was more tired 2 weekends ago running 6.2 then I was this weekend running 8.5.

Thursday we fly back to my parents in Virginia for Owen's 2nd birthday party. I am getting very excited about it!! Hopefully my child will be excellent on the plane. Just kidding, I am just hoping that he is not a terror.
