It's a .........

GIRL!!! Even though we kind of already knew it was a girl (b/c there were no visable boy parts 4 weeks ago and if they were there, they would have been visable) I was still shocked when the ultrasound tech gave us the news. She said that the baby's heart and other organs were looking perfect and that the baby was growing right on schedule for a Sept. 10 due date. Ten fingers and ten toes. Then she said "do you see those 2 white lines right there?" I said "yes". Then she said "It's a girl". Chris squeezed my hand so tight. He was really hoping for a girl this time around. Still trying to wrap my mind around it all. All I know is boy, and I am darn good at having a boy. Owen is my world, my little buddy, my pal, my sidekick. Now we've got to make room in this partnership for a little sister. My mom and sister and mother in law are all so thrilled for us and were thrilled at the news of a new baby girl in the family. Now onto names. I was pretty darn set on Benjamin for a boy, but now thinking ahead to girls names. Chris wants to go with the name we had picked out 3 years ago before we knew Owen was a boy. I'm not so sure. 3 years has passed and I think I want a new name for her.
Two nights ago we've moved Owen into his new bed. His old bed was a crib/toddler bed/double bed combo. But since we'll need the crib for the baby in September we decided to switch Owen now. We asked him what kind of bed he wanted and he told us a boat bed, so that's what we got him. No, not the PBK's $1700 boat bed, but this is a cute, cheaper alternative. His room was formerly done in airplanes, but with the new boat bed we (I) get the fun of redoing his bedroom. I have had lots of fun buying things for this new nautical themed big boy room. I've gotten some great stuff at Home Goods (I love that store!), PBK's, and The Land of Nod catalog. I will post some pictures once the room is complete.
On another note, Owen is potty trained! What a victory. Will he never have an accident again? Yeah right, but I can say that he gets it. He does much better in underwear than a Pullup b/c Pullups feel just like diapers and he even calls them his Diego diapers. Still wearing a Pullup or diaper for nap and bedtime, but I find that most days he wakes up dry from his nap.
