So with yesterday being St. Patrick's Day I heard all sorts of funny comments all day about how I had the perfect accessory with me (Owen- my little redhead). Like I only had him with me because it was St. Patty's Day and I just leave him at home all the rest of the days of the year? I wore my 'Kiss Me I'm Irish' tshirt and Owen had on his green spider Mini Boden tshirt, matching green Croc's and jeans. And you know what? I didn't take a single picture:(
Today it was very windy while Owen and I were doing our afternoon run. A few months ago I much preferred a run by myself than a run with Owen in the jogger. For two reasons. One, running is my 'me' time, my time to get away and be by myself with my thoughts. Two, simply, it is easier to run without pushing a stroller. Well, I feel like I have to retract my two previous statements. I have gotten to the point where I much prefer running with Owen in the BOB jogger than running solo. Owen and I talk while I run (he loves to point out trucks and school buses), he asks for his sippy or a snack or a toy and I try to manage all this while steering and keeping my pace. It's a challenge. Well today was windy. It didn't seem to matter which direction I was running because the wind was always in my face, never at my back (which seems impossible because my route today was a big loop). My BOB Revolution weighs 22 lbs. & Owen weighs 30 lbs. so I was pushing 52 lbs. of weight into 25 mph. winds. We did 4.5 miles and called it a day (Owen had a dirty diaper anyway).
